(ANGOLA) - The average price of gasoline in the United States has climbed sharply over the past month.
According to GasBuddy, the national average for regular gasoline is now about $3.68 per gallon. That's up more than 23 cents in the past week and roughly 80 cents higher than a month ago.
Diesel prices have also increased, averaging about $4.95 per gallon nationwide after rising more than 30 cents over the past week.
Analysts say geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and the switch to more expensive summer gasoline blends are contributing to the price increases.
