(HILLSDALE) - A former Hillsdale County man has been extradited from Kentucky and arraigned on sexual assault charges involving two minors.
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel says 58-year-old Kevin Murphy was arraigned Monday in Hillsdale County's 2B District Court on two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct. Authorities say the alleged assaults happened in 2025.
Murphy was originally charged by the Hillsdale County Prosecutor's Office in October 2025. He was returned to Michigan last week through Operation Survivor Justice, a partnership involving the Michigan Attorney General's Office, county prosecutors and the U.S. Marshals Service that tracks down fugitives with outstanding sexual assault warrants.
Murphy's next court appearance is scheduled for March 25 before 2B District Court Judge Megan Stiverson.
