(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana utility regulators are taking their concerns about rising energy costs directly to the public with a statewide listening tour.

The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission will hold 10 sessions across the state, encouraging residents to bring copies of their utility bills and share concerns about affordability.

For northeast Indiana residents, the closest meeting will be held Monday, April 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the New Haven Community Center on State Road 930, just east of Fort Wayne.

Commission Chairman Andy Zay says the agency has heard from thousands of Hoosiers struggling to pay energy bills and wants direct feedback from communities.

The commission is responsible for ensuring utilities provide reliable service at reasonable rates and says the tour will help identify both short- and long-term solutions to affordability issues.
