(FORT WAYNE) - The Fort Wayne TinCaps are offering fans a weather backup plan for Opening Day.
The team says if the temperature is below 60 degrees at first pitch on Tuesday, April 7, everyone in attendance will be eligible for a ticket of equal or lesser value to another April home game, based on availability.
TinCaps Vice President of Marketing and Promotions Michael Limmer says the team hopes for sunshine and warm weather, but Midwest spring weather can be unpredictable. He says the guarantee gives fans a chance to come back as the team's guest if Opening Day turns out colder than hoped.
If the temperature is 59 degrees or lower at first pitch, Opening Day ticket holders will get information on how to claim their free replacement tickets.
Opening Night at Parkview Field is set for Tuesday, April 7, at 6:35 p.m. The TinCaps open the 2026 season on Friday, April 3, on the road against the Great Lakes Loons before returning home to face the Lansing Lugnuts.
The team says the 2026 season will feature a full slate of promotions. During Opening Week, fans can get a 2026 TinCaps magnet schedule. April promotions also include Family Feast Night on Tuesdays, Paws and Claws Night on Wednesdays, Thirsty Thursday, and postgame autographs on Sundays.
The TinCaps will also hold Military Appreciation Nights on Saturday, April 11, and April 25. Complimentary tickets will be available for active-duty military members, veterans, and their families. Mini American flags will also be handed out.
Season ticket packages are available in several options, including 12-game, 17-game, half-season, and full-season plans. The TinCaps will also be home for Mother's Day, Memorial Day weekend, Father's Day, and the Fourth of July
