(GARDEN PENINSULA) - State wildlife officials are investigating the deaths of multiple bald eagles in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says five bald eagle were found dead in the same area of the Garden Peninsula between April 3 and April 17.
Investigators say the deaths were not caused by natural factors, predators, or vehicle strikes.
The DNR is asking for the public's help in identifying what happened. Anyone with information is encouraged to call or text the Report All Poaching hotline at 800-292-7800.
Tips that lead to an arrest and prosecution may be eligible for a reward, and information can be provided anonymously.
Officials note bald eagles are protected under both state and federal law.
