(COLDWATER) - The Coldwater City Council has approved a tax incentive to move forward with a $3 million redevelopment of the former Family Fair building.
Council members granted a 12-year Obsolete Property Rehabilitation Act exemption for the project at 410 Marshall Street.
Developers plan to convert the site into a mixed-use space featuring a grocery market, restaurant and bar, and recreational area.
Project developer Darrel Hoag says the concept will have a Horrocks-style feel, with food, entertainment, and gathering space.
Construction is expected to begin in June, with completion targeted for late October.
City officials say the project is expected to create jobs and bring new commercial activity to the area
