(COLDWATER, MI) - A Coldwater man is in custody after a high-speed pursuit that crossed into Indiana.
Authorities say 39-year-old Mason J. Holbrook fled from deputies Monday night during a traffic stop attempt for a license plate violation on Fiske Road in Branch County.
The chase continued south on Fremont Road, west on Copeland Road, and then onto I-69 into Indiana, where speeds reportedly exceeded 100 miles per hour.
The pursuit ended near the I-80/90 on-ramp after Indiana State Police deployed stop sticks. Holbrook then attempted to flee on foot but was taken into custody.
He is currently being held in the Steuben County Jail on a charge of resisting law enforcement while awaiting extradition back to Branch County, where additional charges are being sought.
Multiple agencies assisted, including the Branch County Sheriff's Office, Quincy Police Department, Indiana State Police, and the Steuben County Sheriff's Office.
