(COLDWATER) - SEKISUI Voltek marked the completion of a $39 million expansion project Tuesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its Coldwater facility.

The company's new 50,000-square-foot facility in Coldwater's Southwest Industrial Park was built as part of "Project Endeavor" and will produce specialized polyolefin foams used in the medical, automotive and construction industries.

Company officials said the expansion will increase production capacity by about 20% while adding new technology and automation to support growing demand for its products.

The project is expected to create 25 new jobs, bringing employment at the Coldwater operation to approximately 215 workers.

The company said the new facility will also support sustainability efforts by providing scrap materials to Schmidt Foam, which recycles the material into sports turf underlayment. The project received support through a 12-year, 50% tax abatement approved by the City of Coldwater as part of the company's continued investment in Coldwater and Branch County.
