(DEKALB COUNTY) - Two drivers were injured Saturday morning in a crash at the intersection of State Road 3 and County Road 68.

According to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office, the collision occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m.

Investigators say 27-year-old Abraham Gaytan of Warsaw was driving a 2025 Chevrolet Express eastbound on County Road 68 and attempted to cross State Road 3.

Gaytan told deputies he did not see an approaching vehicle as he entered the intersection.

A northbound 2024 Hyundai Palisade driven by 46-year-old Alison Voorhies of Fort Wayne struck the Chevrolet after deputies say Gaytan failed to yield the right of way.

The impact caused both vehicles to leave the roadway. The Chevrolet struck a "One Way" sign before coming to rest northeast of the intersection. The Hyundai came to rest southeast of the intersection.

Gaytan reported shoulder pain. Voorhies reported chest pain and minor abrasions.

Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were declared total losses.

The crash remains under investigation by the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office.
