(ANGOLA) - The Angola Common Council is expected to take up a final vote Monday night on the proposed downtown Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area, commonly known as a DORA.

The proposal has already cleared two readings and would allow people to carry alcoholic beverages in approved containers within designated downtown boundaries during certain hours. Participating businesses listed in the ordinance include Buck Lake Bar & Grill, Cork & Barrel, The Venue, Sutton's Deli, Monument Pizza Pub, The Moose Family Center and Elixir.

Council members are also scheduled to continue discussion on a rezoning request for property along State Road 827 north of Eastland Crossing Section I. That ordinance heads to council on second reading Monday night.

Another traffic-related ordinance would receive its first reading. The proposal would update parking restrictions in several areas across the city.

Council members are also expected to review a proposed $98,400 engineering services agreement tied to replacement of the Trine University lift station near Thunder Drive.

Other agenda items include a downtown façade grant request for Jenny Lou's Greenery on West Gale Street and approval of a change order connected to the Pokagon Utility Project.

The Angola Common Council meets Monday at 7 p.m. at Angola City Hall. The meeting will also be livestreamed on the City of Angola YouTube channel.
