(DEKALB COUNTY) - A broken down car and slippery roadways caused a two car crash near the intersection of State Road 8 and County Road 7 in DeKalb County early Thursday morning. The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office reports a Lexus driven by 41-year-old Linsey Finney of Kendallville had just broken down in the eastbound lanes. Moments later, 44-year-old Justin Brown of Huntertown was driving east in his Volkswagen when he spotted the disabled vehicle, but couldn't avoid the collision.
The impact of Brown's car pushed Finney's car into a ditch and threw Finney about 100 feet across the roadway. He suffered a large cut on his face and was taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center. Brown reported no injuries.
