(ANGOLA) - The Steuben County Sheriff's Office has welcomed three new merit deputies following a recent swearing-in ceremony.
Deputy Justus Spriggs, Deputy Caleb Lepper and Deputy Tyler Call were officially sworn in and have begun field training.
Spriggs is an Angola native and a 2022 graduate of Prairie Heights High School. Before joining the Sheriff's Office, he worked in the auto body repair industry and currently resides in Orland.
Lepper is a 2023 graduate of Hamilton High School and has lived his entire life in Hamilton. He began his career with the Sheriff's Office as a confinement officer at the Steuben County Jail immediately after graduation before being hired as a merit deputy.
Call is a lifelong Steuben County resident and a 2023 graduate of Angola High School. He worked as a confinement officer at the Steuben County Jail beginning in 2024 before joining the road patrol division as a merit deputy.
The Sheriff's Office says all three deputies have started field training and are expected to attend the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy later this year.
