(DEKALB COUNTY) - Three people were hurt Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash at County Road 427 and County Road 60 South.
The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened at 4:44 p.m. Monday, June 29.
Deputies say 59-year-old Julie Hollabaugh-Rotz of Spencerville was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Impala northbound on County Road 427 when a vehicle in front of her slowed down because of a semi parked along the roadway.
Hollabaugh-Rotz then attempted to turn west onto County Road 60 from County Road 427 and did not see a 2025 Chevrolet Traverse traveling southbound on County Road 427.
Deputies say Hollabaugh-Rotz failed to yield, causing the Traverse to collide with the passenger side of the Impala.
The Traverse, driven by 63-year-old Randall Hassenzahl of Hamilton, spun 180 degrees and went off the west side of the roadway onto the shoulder of County Road 427. The Impala ended up in the ditch on the southwest side of the intersection.
Hollabaugh-Rotz suffered a minor head injury. She was treated at the scene and released.
Randall Hassenzahl reported minor chest pain. His passenger, 58-year-old Mindie Hassenzahl of Hamilton, reported minor back pain. Both were taken by EMS for minor injuries.
Both vehicles were listed as total losses.
The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office was assisted by DeKalb Central Communications, Jackson Fire, Parkview EMS, Tony's Towing and C. Noel's Towing.
