(GARRETT) - Fireworks being set off nearby may have sparked a roof fire Saturday night at Garrett Bowl.
The fire was reported at 10:38 p.m. while the business was open.
Garrett Assistant Fire Chief Chad Werkheiser said a command unit arrived three minutes later and found smoke and flames visible from the roof area.
Firefighters had the fire under control at 10:57 p.m.
The fire was reported by a neighbor. Auburn firefighters assisted at the scene.
Damage was estimated at about $10,000.
Garrett Bowl will be closed during smoke removal, damage assessment, and repairs.
The business thanked the Garrett Police Department and Garrett Fire Department for their quick response.
The fire remains under investigation.
