(BRYAN) - A Bryan man has pleaded guilty in a Williams County hit-and-run that seriously injured a pregnant woman and her two children.
Michael Quillen entered guilty pleas Thursday to three counts of failure to stop after an accident and one count of tampering with evidence.
The charges stem from a November 2025 crash involving an Amish buggy and Quillen's later concealment of his vehicle. The pregnant victim later delivered her baby about two months early.
Under the plea agreement, prosecutors and the defense will jointly recommend a 47-month prison sentence. Quillen also agreed to pay $750,538.37 in restitution for the victims' medical bills and local emergency-response costs.
If the restitution is paid in full before sentencing, prosecutors will not oppose a future request for judicial release when the court considers it appropriate. If it is not paid before sentencing, prosecutors say they will oppose judicial release throughout the entire 47-month term.
Sentencing has not yet been announced.
