(ANGOLA) - A new community "buddy bench" made from more than 4,000 pieces of collected plastic will be dedicated Saturday at Bird Song Park in Angola.
The Sammie Vance and POLYWOOD Buddy Bench dedication will begin at noon at the corner of Martha and East Maumee streets.
The bench is intended to provide a place for someone who needs a friend to sit and connect with others at the park.
The project was developed through a partnership involving Angola Girl Scouts Troop 20489, youth from the Angola Performing Arts Academy and Angola Main Street.
Community members and organizations helped collect the recyclable plastic used to create the bench.
The public is invited to attend Saturday's dedication and see the new community bench
