(OHIO) - Drivers on the Ohio Turnpike will pay more starting January 1, 2026, after the Turnpike Commission approved a 2.7% toll increase.

Passenger vehicles using E-ZPass will see rates rise to 7.3 cents per mile, while cash or credit card users will pay 10.6 cents per mile. Commercial vehicle rates are also increasing, with E-ZPass users paying 22.6 cents per mile and cash or credit users 28.4 cents per mile.

A full westbound trip across the turnpike will cost $19 with E-ZPass for passenger vehicles, and $27.75 without it. Commercial vehicles will pay $58.75 with E-ZPass or $74 using cash or credit.

Turnpike officials say E-ZPass users still save about 33%, and the increases are needed to cover operating costs and system improvements--without relying on tax dollars.
