(GARRETT) - After a decade in Garrett-Keyser-Butler Schools, Justin Weber is moving on from his role as assistant principal at Garrett High School to take a new position at Trine University. The school board formally accepted Weber's resignation, effective Dec. 19. Weber was recognized earlier this year for 10 years of service to the district, and colleagues praised his work with students and staff as he transitions into higher education.
Weber's departure comes during a period of leadership change at Garrett High. Longtime principal Matt Smith retired last month. Sam Watkins is serving as interim principal, and Jodie Clark will step in as interim associate principal beginning Jan. 5.
District leaders credited Weber with strong collaboration across buildings and meaningful mentorship within the administrative team. Superintendent Dan Durrwachter and several principals thanked Weber for his dedication and leadership, saying his impact will be felt long after his departure.
