(COLDWATER) - The City of Coldwater is set to welcome the new year with Winterfest, a free community celebration scheduled for Saturday, January 24, 2026.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Heritage Park, with activities centered around the splash pad area and the nearby Dr. Browne Recreation Center. Winterfest is designed as a family-friendly gathering featuring outdoor fun, demonstrations, and seasonal entertainment.
Highlights include horse-drawn wagon rides through the park, live wood carving demonstrations, and interactive sled dog presentations. Children can enjoy inflatables and craft stations, while warming areas will offer complimentary hot chocolate and s'mores.
One of Winterfest's signature attractions, the Cardboard Sled Races, will return to Kiwanis Hill. Participants will race sleds made entirely from cardboard and tape, competing for trophies and prizes in multiple age categories. Awards will be given for both longest distance traveled and most creative design.
Registration details and official race guidelines are available on the City of Coldwater's website. For additional information, residents can contact the Dr. Browne Recreation Center directly at 517-278-8566
