STURGIS – It was another record setting year for the St. Joseph County United Way and the WBET Radiothon.

After helping to raise $103,000 in 2020, the 2021 event shattered that record. Following 18 hours of celebrity DJ teams being on the air to raise money, St. Joseph County United Way Executive Director Kelly Hostetler stepped to the microphone to announced the total amount raised for the event was $130,962.70.

Hostetler had a big thank you for everyone who was able to make a pledge. She says its overwhelming that people give to the United Way, but the money goes right back to the community, and it is appreciated that the community believes in what the United Way is doing.

The newly crowned Celebrity DJ Corporate Winner for 2021 was Morgan Olsen who raised $38,227. The Celebrity DJ Private Sector Winner was the Sturgis Elks Club, who were able to raise $38,156.
