ANGOLA, IN - The “Rodney Snyder for Coroner 2020” Campaign announced Tuesday evening on social media that Snyder was sworn into the office of Steuben County Coroner for the remainder of the year by a caucus. Rodney Snyder reportedly took his official oath on Monday, May 4th.
Snyder thanked the public for “support and kind words of encouragement”.
On April 23rd, Snyder, requested appointment to the May 4th Republican caucus to fill the vacancy of the Steuben County Coroner's Office. The position became vacant when William Harter stepped down due to his recent promotion to Angola's Assistant Fire Chief.
In August of 2019 Snyder of Steuben County received Indiana’s Emergency Medical Service of the Year Award. Upon Snyder receiving the award, Congressman Jim Bank said Snyder receiving the award was “an important reminder of the crucial and selfless services provided by Indiana’s emergency personnel”.
With 28 years in the Steuben County Coroner's office and 39 years in public service, Snyder was already the Republican candidate for Steuben County Coroner’s Race in 2020.
