SYRACUSE – The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal hit and run accident.
Deputies say they were called just after 5 PM Friday to 70888 County Road 29 in Syracuse. They found 58 year old Mark Warren, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators determined that Warren was walking south along County Road 29, just south of County Road 50. Warren was struck by a vehicle, that then fled the scene.
Debris found at the site categorizes the vehicle as possibly being a Ford F 250 super duty or a larger Ford truck. It will have front passenger side damage. The investigation is continuing. If anyone has information on this incident, they are asked to call the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office.
