The National Weather Service says things will remain cool, however, with highs in the lower to middle 30s. Under clear skies tonight, temperatures plummet into the middle to upper teens.

Forecasters say a warming trend then begins with highs reaching the upper 40s to lower 50s Thursday and Friday.

Meanwhile, a frontal system approaches and spreads rain into the region, especially Thursday afternoon through Thursday night, with chances lingering into Friday.
