(COLDWATER) – A K-9 officer helped to find an assault suspect.
Coldwater Director of Public Safety Joe Scheid says Coldwater Police Officers were called to an address on Butters Avenue at 1:47 AM Wednesday when a man reportedly assaulted a woman and brandished a knife. The suspect fled the scene on foot before police arrived.
K-9 Officer Murph was brought to the scene, and tracked the suspect to a wooded area near the house. The 35 year old Coldwater man was found hiding in a bush and was arrested on a charge of assault and battery. He is being held in the Branch County Jail.
