(JACKSON TOWNSHIP) – A three vehicle crash took the life of one person over the weekend.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says at 11:41 PM Sunday, troopers were sent to a crash at State Road 637 and County Road 138. Their investigation determined that 17 year old Grady Barton of Oakwood and 31 year old Marisela Vazquez of Paulding were both driving north on State Road 637, and 48 year old Lance Bolenbaugh of Bryan was driving south on a motorcycle.

Vazquez was slowing down her vehicle to make a left hand turn onto County Road 138. Barton failed to slow down and swerved to the left to avoid her vehicle. He sideswiped the Vazquez vehicle, traveling into the southbound lane and struck Bolenbaugh’s motorcycle head on.

Bolenbaugh was pronounced dead at the scene. Barton had minor injuries and Vazquez was not injured.

Assisting at the scene were the Paulding County Sheriff's Office, the Paulding Fire Department and Paulding EMS.
